  • Scheduling of Lessons

The scheduled day and the time of Student's weekly lessons will not undergo changes for the remainder of the term unless an arrangement is made between the Teacher and the Student well in advance. The Student should expect a lesson every week, with the exception of (1) any holiday listed in the above calendar, and (2) a cancellation made by the Teacher.

  • Duration of Enrollment

Students who enroll in the Fall-Winter-Spring Term are expected to take lessons continuously throughout the term. Prospective students are encouraged to take at least four lessons during the Summer Term, if they wish to enroll in the next Fall-Winter-Spring Term. If the Student discontinues his/her study during the year, he/she will not be guaranteed a readmission to the class. One month's notice with a payment is required if study is discontinued.

  • Cancelling of Lessons / Missed Lessons

No deduction will be made if the Student cancels or misses his/her lesson for any reason. Makeup lessons will not be allowed. If the Teacher cancels or misses a lesson, the Student may choose between a makeup lesson and a full refund.

  •  Sheet Music

Students will be required to purchase their music. Mills Music in Seattle/Eastside area is known to have the best selection and short ordering time. Ask the Teacher for locations near you. Many online retailers are also a good way to purchase music. www.allegromusiconline.com www.sheetmusicplus.com, www.alfredpub.com are just few to mention.

  • Recitals / Competitions / Masterclasses / Camps

In January and June, the Teacher will organize a student recital in which qualified students will be encouraged to perform. Selected students will also have an opportunity to participate in various auditions, competitions, and master classes organized by the Music Teacher's Association. The Teacher will inform her students about various summer music camps.

  • Practicing And Progress

The expected amount of daily practice is different for every student as it depends on his/her goals and priorities. Each student, therefore, will work and progress at his/her own rate and will not be compared to the others. In general, students are expected to practice at least five days a week, where each daily practice session is as long as his/her weekly lesson. Parents will be encouraged to help the Student establish and maintain a workable schedule for practice. The Student should practice on a piano that is in tune and in good working condition.
The Teacher reserves the right to discontinue working with the Student, at any time, if he/she continuously fails to meet the minimum practice requirements, in which case the Student will be refunded for his/her prepaid lessons (if any).

  • Lesson Fees / Tuition

Tuition is charged on a monthly basis, payable in advance at the first lesson of the month, where each monthly payment is calculated as follows:

LESSON FEE      x      THE NUMBER OF LESSONS IN THAT MONTH

If the Student cancels or misses the first scheduled lesson of the month, the payment must be received no later than the second lesson of that month; a $20 late fee will be charged for a delayed payment.
